about

This album was originally written for the wECU Piano Day 2021 radio show.

My goal was to create "piano echoes", though not in the rather clichéd way of sounds being "frozen in time", but more along the lines of them being "frozen in memories". I hope that makes sense. The name "Sixteen Seconds" comes from my test audio exports, where I would leave at least sixteen seconds of "tail" at the end to make sure the reverb tails were fully captured during the rendering phase.

All sounds in the album are heavily processed piano melodies that I created using mostly UVI Piano Model D (special thanks to Proswell for recommending UVI's products!). Using Reaper, I drenched these melodies in tons of reverb, especially Airwindows Galactic and Saike Reflectosaurus (both freeware and amazing), as well as my trusty Eventide Blackhole.

Anyway, happy Piano Day and thanks to everyone at wECU for giving me the opportunity to do this! Check out wECU on Mixlr: mixlr.com/wecu
